“L.A.G.O.S”
Lagos
Land of my father
Praised by my mother
A city so small with people like no other
Here I’ve met friends that are brothers
Lots of sexy queens and divas
Ilu eko people call it
A calm and collected governor heads it
The sweet ocean breeze cools it
While driving on the highway you might loose it
Lovely boats on the island you might get to cruise it
A city where fishes in the ocean flourish
Lovely diner’s with foods well nourished
In need of a plane MM1 you might board it
Streets in the island so satisfying at night
Makes you wonder Mainland where are the lights
Funds so large, reserve so full
Mans so free no tyranny’s rule
Well not till men in blacks ruled
You move with caution else you get killed
See them on the road their eyes so filled
Not with tears, but with anger and rage
Their soul so chilled
MIB remember the ones you killed
The ones you billed and the ones you reeled
So next time when back on the field
And a youth passing by looks so heeled
Make sure your weapons are locked and sealed
Cus when you die all your family’s going to get
Is what you’ve rightfully earned and willed
Well leave that
Sorry I had to reach that
Yeah I’m talking bout my Lagos but I had to preach that
I know that’s a breach of topic i admit that
So my Lagos let’s get to that
Lagos city filled with different culture and race
Some hood so calm some hood dem crase
Coming from Ibadan all I want to see is begga
Where you wan go shomolu, yaba or bariga
Easy to access but traffic might hold ya
And if you try pass one way lastman go bill ya
Even if you be king, queen or burna d gorilla
For some street boys go still drill ya !!!
Governed by Jide Sanwoolu
A city when you’re big every chick knows you
Hype men at clubs just want to hail you
But if it gets to your head and you overstep
You might get beaten and jailed too
Lagos city where the hustle is real
A place where heat comes with the morning dew
Houses so packed you might say eww
But they live well and pay their bill
You hear different yarns and slangs
Like “when it’s good” e mean say e “STEW”
“We are outside” means they ballin in “CREW”
To survive you need not too much power or super SKILL
Just try not to climb rocks While on heels
Universities private, federal and state
With genders from different state
Some with and some without food In their plate
Guarded by the ifa eko jagaban
Any season be it rainy or harmattan
His goals and views for this city and stronger than
Before I end this
Jaga Senior man my hat’s duffed for you
Lagos city a big and sweet turf for you
A government in check low key ruled by you
Toll gate on sight bank rolls for you
Well this city is yours as long as it Flourish
By you
Lagos i love Lagos in cherish
Lagos I am Lagos I relish
Came with a lot of mistakes but dealt with
Forever thankful for this city I’m blessed with
Ask for the the lord to guide and protect US
For this is my land and city LAGOS.
